Busso Half Ironman Training update

Its now less than 5 weeks to go before the Busso Half Ironman. Dee’s getting a podiatrist to sort our her shin splints and bunyon. I had the Freo Corporate fun triathlon at Freo. So many first time triathletes. Well done to all competitors. Our team came third (get this, we were in the Super Veteran category- not sure whether to be proud of this or ashamed!). I went for a run last night in the rain for 15kms. Negative split the last 7.5kms by 3mins. Soaking wet though. My gym program calls for decent efforts at Central TAFE in the upper and lower body workouts and core strength (have decided that ‘clap’ push ups are difficult….and jarring. Still hate the narrow-grip chinups the most. Cyclosportif starts 20 April at Chidlow. Now thats 87kms of hilly team riding. One hill in particular that many of last years riders were walking their bikes up. This weekend, will do the ASICS Bridges fun run. The Point Walter triathlon is on but I’ve left it too late (as usual) to enter without incurring a big late fee. Here’s something for you to ponder - if Panadol has a rapid relief version available, why do they think its reasonable to keep selling pain relief that takes 2 or 3 times longer to work? Very strange. Rode ‘Sparkles’ in to work today (now stop that, its a bicycle you idiots! Geez)

My last swim was at Melville Pool at around 7pm to 8pm. I just did 30 laps….and yes, I still have swimming. I endure it, I don’t enjoy it.

I have to redeem myself at Raf Baugh’s Front Runner training this Thursday. I know it’s hard but it’s a real challenge and it’s a real honest running workout. I am, however, the token OFG (old fat guy).

Finally, check this out. If you want evidence of my wife’s 40kg weight loss, click here ‘Dee Christiansen‘ and check out the before and after photos for yourself. She’s an amazing woman!

Reservoir for now

CHRISTO
