Mountain goats

Dee’s getting all her gear, intinerary and training sharpened for her Mts Meru and Kilimanjaro trek in January 2009. We expect Foxtel will show the Kili documentaries again soon. I’ll scour the internet for some CDs and/or books. I am back on track to do the Central Park Tower stairclimb on Sunday 8 June after securing my entry. I will , unfortunately, start near the rear of the field but I’m hoping for a 10min effort to get up the 53 flights of stairs. More Jacob’s ladder training this evening for both of us.  Dee did an 18km run yesterday and I managed a good 2min negative split on Sat AM with 31mins out and 29mins back along Ranford Rd.

The Front Runner training continues to be a challenge for me but that’s the way I like it. Once Raf Baugh gets his City to Surf charges on board in early July, it will be a very big running group indeed. The more the merrier I reckon!

Soon, we will have the Sway Valley ‘Cicli a Swan Valley’ cycling event on 29 June. A little sooner is the Perth Half Marathon on 15 June. Last year’s time of 1hr 37min looks hard for me to beat but the next 10 days training will give me an idea.

Ryan Fynn’s spin sessions under the Narrows Bridge look like a good option. I may bring the rollers along for an extra balancing challenge (Ryan managed a 2hr15m cycle at the Busso Half Ironman as part of a team - very tidy effort that!)

I’m planning on pinning a sign on my back that says ‘Push’ for this stairclimb. Anyway, it will be my first effort. You can sponsor me at www.stepupforms.com.au website. Just look for my name, Paul Christiansen. I’ve put the christo username on it.

Great weather in Perth these next few days. It’s been great out on the bike

Cheers

Christo
