Perth Half Marathon

Last night, Raf promised a training session that would be a ’sharpener’ for the Perth Half Marathon. We did around 6km of running at ‘5km’ pace in total and, as usual, around 3kms of warm up running and 3kms of warm down. I know its doing me good but its very challenging.  I’ll get my Front Runner cap soon just to ‘flash another badge’.

Sunday is the Perth Half Marathon and I’m registered now for this. I’m running with a guy who’s also mid 40s and we are hoping for a 1hr35min effort. Going to be hard work. I’ll have orange socks on if any of you want to spot me up.

Rode Sparkles in well today. Dee gets her -10C sleeping bag and goretex jacket today for Kilimanjaro. I ended up placing 5th in stairclimb but 4th was one second faster than me and 3rd was two seconds faster. I’ll store that in the memory bank for next year.

Gym today. Back into the protein powder for a while. I’ll actually forget how to swim soon, its been a long time between dips. BFSR ride tomorrow but I may need so save a little ‘petrol’ for Sunday’s effort.

 Got a rogaine coming up pretty soon. Cyclosportif on 29 June. I’d like to give the King of the Mountain a go on 20 July which is a 16km hilly run organised by WA Marathon Club. Hmm, I may be doing my hair that day though!!

 Hey what do you do when your nose goes on strike? Picket! (note to self: no more jokes on blog!)

    Hey got to know about your website from the triwa forum. Hope I’m not intruding! I’ll be at tomorrow’s Half Marathon too! I’m Malaysian, so I’ll be one of the few Asians there with glasses! See you there and all the best!
