Perth Marathon, Le Tour , etc
Congratulations to Dee’s employer, Synergy Energy, on winning the Australian Call Centre of the Year. On Sunday, I helped out with the Perth Marathon handing out carboshotz. Even saw John Worsfold running the Marathon (West Coast Eagles Coach). Now that’s leading by example in terms of fitness. Congrats to all of you who did this event. You are all legends for doing the marathon. Such a big test of fitness and mental strength. Stephen Dunn will have his 100th marathon coincide at Rottnest in October. Dee and I plan to do this one.
Saturday morning ride took us via Mounts Bay Rd, Claremont, Cottesloe up to Nth Freo and eventually into Fremantle cappucino strip. A quick coffee then a challenging ride home along South St.
I had the flu so was feeling a little off my game. Watched the first two stages of the Tour de France. Can’t believe Voeckler is trialling a new 11spd Campagnolo Super Record cluster. I guess it was just a matter of time. But, as Phil Liggett said, how narrow must the chain be!
Stage 2 finished in just under 43kph average. Amazing stuff. Good going for Thor Hushovd in a gutsy final sprint. Cadel just biding his time for the ‘real stuff’. Riding Ernie today as Sparkles had a flat - no time to fix it. Happened at home as I was wheeling it out so a quick change of bikes.
Buying an Orbea Enol for one of Dee’s friends from Bikeforce Southern River. Nice entry level road bike. Dee was still getting used to her bike shoes. Clipping and unclipping. Always a tentative time.
Regards
CHRISTO
